SIGMOD 2023 Authors Instructions

With the approval of the ACM Publications Board, SIGMOD Research Track and (peer reviewed) Industrial track papers will appear in a new journal Publication “Proceedings of the ACM on Management of Data (PACMMOD)”. All other papers will appear in SIGMOD23 companion proceedings publication.

Authors will receive detailed camera-ready preparation and submission instructions from Sheridan. Please make sure that you use the correct ACM SIG templates and formatting as instructed by them. Please also expect an email from ACM Rightsreview with the electronic copyright-permission forms to be completed as well as a separate email from Sheridan Communications with their final submission link. Note that ACM requires that all accepted authors register and provide ACM with valid ORCIDs prior to paper publication. Corresponding authors are responsible for collecting these ORCIDs from co-authors and for providing them to ACM as part of the ACM eRights selection process.

Note that at least one author is required to register for the conference before the corresponding camera ready deadline for the paper to be included in the proceedings.

For any questions and/or difficulties, please reach out to SIGMOD23 Proceedings Chairs, Zhuoyue Zhao (zzhao35@buffalo.edu) and Zhichao Cao (zhichao.cao@asu.edu).

** PACMMOD Instructions for the Research Track and (peer-reviewed) Industrial Track papers:

We received the approval for the new journal only very recently and, hence, the web site for the new journal (https://dl.acm.org/journal/pacmmod ) is still under construction; but you can find general information about the journal at

The first volume of the journal will have two issues: SIGMO23 Research Track Cycle A&B papers will be published in V1, N1 and SIGMOD23 Research Track Cycle C papers, along with the Peer Reviewed Industrial Track papers, will be published in V1, N2:

IMPORTANT NOTE ON FORMATTING: PACMMOD journal articles will be formatted differently from the conference proceedings articles. Camera-ready papers are to be formatted using the 1 column ACM Small Journal style ( https://www.scomminc.com/pp/acmsig/ACM-sample-acmsmall.pdf ). All PACMMOD camera-ready papers are limited to 24 pages plus an unlimited number of pages for the bibliography. No appendix is allowed. Camera-ready papers should not include any new content beyond the accepted submission version of the manuscript.

Word and Latex templates for the camera ready versions of the accepted manuscripts can be found here

The ACM LaTeX template on Overleaf platform is available to all ACM authors at

Please use the correct ACM SIG templates and formatting as instructed by Sheridan. The most up-to-date instructions for PACMMOD Vol. 1, N1 and N2 can be found at

Pre-recorded videos

Note that research track and industrial track authors are required to submit pre-recorded 13 minute videos for their talks. These videos are required to follow the ACM guidelines and will be included in the ACM DL. Additional details about the format and how to submit the pre-recorded videos will be shared at a later date. Please note that the conference will be in-person and requires a registered author to present the paper. The pre-recorded videos are not a substitute for in-person attendance.

Availablility and Reproducibility

After submitting the CR of a paper, research track authors are invited to start working on their availability and reproducibility package. A succinct description of what such a package should include is available here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_pheZ2p9Nc8qhtcOpNINm7AxFpP
pkpC1n60jJdyr-uk/
and more details of the SIGMOD Availability and Reproducibility (ARC) effort can be found at https://reproducibility.sigmod.org/ . Approximately four weeks after your CR deadline, we will announce the Call for Artifacts through https://reproducibility.sigmod.org/, where you will be able to submit your artifacts in order to be evaluated, aiming to get the following badges (i) Artifacts Available, (ii) Artifacts Evaluated, and/or (iii) Results Reproduced.

** SIGMOD23 Companion Proceedings instructions for all other tracks:

All SIGMOD23 publications, with the exception of research track and (peer reviewed) industrial track papers, will be published at the ACM DL in the form of a SIGMOD23 companion proceedings publication:

Camera-ready versions of the papers and abstracts are due on April 12th.

Please make sure that you use the most up-to-date ACM SIG sigconf 2 col (default) templates and formatting. Please expect an email from Sheridan regarding the correct and most up-to-date ACM SIG templates and formatting instructions.

Pre-recorded videos

Note that SIGMOD23 authors for several tracks are required to submit pre-recorded videos for their talks as detailed in the above list.
